Take Action.

Run for Public Office.

Train Up

Running for public elected office is no small task. Luckily, Wisconsin has a number of great organizations to help first-time candidates learn more about local elections as well as the INs and OUTs of a winning campaign. Wisconsin needs a strong bench to rebuild our Democratic infrastructure within the community.

Emerge Wisconsin empowers women to run for office with a series of training sessions. Learn how to manage a campaign, craft your message, talk to neighbors and get elected to public office.

Wisconsin Progress is the only organization with the long-term vision to develop progressive political leaders who will bring about the change we wish to see in the state of Wisconsin.

Emerging or established. Calm or contentious. Any race, anywhere: NDTC can help. Their team believes passionately that by empowering Democrats to get involved in local politics, we can help shape the future of progressive politics.

If you have decided to throw your hat in the ring - AWESOME! We need progressive voices on every public governmental body. The first step? Getting on the ballot. Print off the appropriate paperwork for your office and start collecting your neighbor’s signatures; every office has different requirements, so be sure to check.

Find a complete list of municipalities and elected offices at the Marathon County website, along with specific District information, candidate info and election updates.

The Wisconsin Elections Commission has resources to learn about getting on the ballot for any local public elected office. For more information on ballot access contact your municipal clerk.

Staff Up

Many of these local elected offices can be won on your own with the help of local volunteers from the Marathon County or state parties. We can assist with a range of campaign needs; you don’t need a full staff, but you won’t be alone in your run. We’re always looking to help great progressives run for public elected office.

Contact us at the Democratic Party of Marathon County if you’re thinking of running for local public elected office. We can point you in the right direction towards any information you may need.

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin can be a great asset to any campaign. They support candidates via the county party with voter data, advice and information on your election.
